British Heritage Hosts is building a carefully selected private network of British hosts, guides and organisers in London and the English countryside. Our purpose is to open real British homes to international families for private teas, dinners, guided days and canal journeys, every visit arranged personally. We are accepting enquiries now from families planning a visit, and from hosts, guides and organisers who wish to join us.
Every BHH experience is arranged for your family alone. No other guests share your host, your guide, or your vessel. Never.
BHH verifies every host, every guide, and every partner before they join the network. Our standard is non negotiable.
Every host we accept must have deep personal roots in English home life. BHH does not perform Englishness. It opens the door to it.
All bookings, communications and payments for the experiences BHH arranges are handled by BHH directly. Your privacy and your family's details are protected at every step.
Every host home we arrange is briefed for your family: halal catering available, alcohol free settings on request, prayer time respected. Tell us what matters and it is arranged before you arrive.
British Heritage Hosts Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, Company No. 17103555. Your booking sits with an accountable British company, not with a private individual.
Tell us about your family, your preferred dates, and the experiences that interest you. No commitment required.
BHH prepares a personal proposal tailored to your family, describing the full experience. Your proposal is sent to you privately.
Accept your proposal and make full payment to BHH. Your booking is confirmed as soon as payment is received. Our cancellation terms apply from that moment, set out in clause 3 of the Terms of Service.
Arrive, be welcomed, and experience a country that almost no visitor ever sees. Your family. Your evening. Your memory.
For general enquiries, press or partnerships, reach us directly.
Tell us about your family and your visit. We will arrange the rest.
British Heritage Hosts Ltd (“BHH”, “we”, “our”, “us”), Company No. 17103555, registered at Monomark House, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX, is committed to protecting the privacy of every guest, host, partner and Heritage Scout who engages with our services. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We may collect: full name, title, and contact details; country of residence, city, and nationality; dietary requirements and allergy information; Enhanced DBS certificate status (hosts and partners); Basic DBS check consent, public liability insurance details and self employment status (Heritage Scouts); payment and billing information (processed by Airwallex); feedback data, where given; and any additional information you voluntarily provide.
We use your data to: respond to enquiries and prepare proposals; process bookings, payments, and cancellations; match guests with suitable hosts; verify host, partner and Heritage Scout credentials; send pre experience briefings and post experience feedback requests; improve our services; and comply with legal obligations.
We process your data on the basis of: contractual necessity (to fulfil services); legitimate interest (to operate and improve our business and protect safety); consent (where explicitly agreed, such as marketing); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable laws).
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: approved hosts and partners (to deliver your experience); Airwallex (for payment processing); and professional advisors or regulatory authorities where required by law.

These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by British Heritage Hosts Ltd (“BHH”), Company No. 17103555, Monomark House, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. By submitting an enquiry, making a booking, or applying to become a host or partner, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
BHH provides premium, enquiry based hospitality experiences connecting international families with approved hosts across the United Kingdom. Services BHH provides, arranges and invoices are Heritage Guide, English Tea, British Dinner, Canal Day Cruise, Cultural Immersion Programme, Personal Interpreter Service and Riverside Grill. All such services are bespoke, subject to availability, with prices provided individually upon enquiry. Certain services are not provided, sold or invoiced by BHH: currently Airport Transfer, Chauffeured Hire and Narrowboat Holiday. For these, BHH acts solely as an introducer to an independent partner, with whom booking and payment are made directly (see clause 12).
All bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment, processed securely through Airwallex. A booking reference will be issued upon confirmation. BHH reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
More than 14 days before: full refund. 7 to 14 days before: 50% refund. Less than 7 days: no refund, unless BHH can rearrange to an alternative date. If BHH cancels: full refund.
Guests must provide accurate information including dietary requirements, allergies, and group size. Guests must arrive on time; late arrivals may reduce the experience duration without price adjustment. Guests must treat hosts, their homes, and property with respect. BHH may terminate an experience if behaviour is disruptive or unsafe.
All hosts and partners are independently vetted, and a valid Enhanced DBS certificate is required before their first booking. They operate as independent service providers, not employees of BHH. BHH may invite guests and hosts to give feedback after an experience, and uses it to maintain service quality.
Guests must disclose all dietary requirements and allergies at booking. While hosts make every reasonable effort to accommodate requests, BHH cannot guarantee a completely allergen free environment in private homes.
BHH acts as an intermediary connecting guests with independent hosts and partners. BHH is not liable for loss, injury, or damage arising from the actions or omissions of hosts, partners, or guests. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant booking. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
All website content is the property of British Heritage Hosts Ltd and is protected by copyright. Reproduction without prior written consent is prohibited.
Following an experience, BHH may invite both the guest and the host to give feedback. Any feedback given is confidential and is used solely to maintain and improve service quality.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
BHH offers two distinct categories of service. (a) Services we provide. Heritage Guide, English Tea, British Dinner, Canal Day Cruise, Cultural Immersion Programme, Personal Interpreter Service and Riverside Grill are arranged, sold and invoiced by BHH, and these Terms govern them in full. (b) Partners we introduce. For certain services, currently Airport Transfer, Chauffeured Hire and Narrowboat Holiday, BHH acts solely as an introducer. On the website, Airport Transfer and Chauffeured Hire are shown together as a single Transportation card. We connect you with an independent third party partner, and any contract, booking and payment for those services are made directly between you and that partner. BHH does not sell, supply, invoice or take payment for introduced services, is not a party to any resulting agreement, and accepts no liability for their provision. The partner's own terms, pricing, insurance and cancellation policy apply.
